Cardiovascular Radiology Technologist

As a Cardiovascular Interventional Technologist, you will play an essential role in assisting physicians with interventional, cardiovascular, and operating room procedures. You will utilize established imaging protocols and departmental policies to ensure the safe operation of imaging equipment while delivering exceptional patient care. This position will enhance your skills in scrubbing and monitoring within the cardiac cath lab, electrophysiology, and interventional radiology. You will report directly to the Manager or Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities :

• Assist physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiac or peripheral vascular conditions, such as implanting pacemakers or conducting balloon angioplasties for blood vessel blockages.
• Adhere to the as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA) guidelines while operating fluoroscopic imaging equipment to create contrast-enhanced radiographs of the heart and vascular system.
• Conduct checks and maintenance on fluoroscopy equipment to ensure proper functioning.
• Complete all necessary daily equipment checks / tests before procedures and report any failures to the lead or service team.
• Monitor patient vital signs, including blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and heart rate, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
• Accurately document patient vital signs and notify physicians of any abnormalities.
• Utilize electrocardiogram (EKG) equipment during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Maintain a sterile field during surgical operations.
• Fulfill additional duties as assigned by managers or supervisors in a timely manner.

Job Requirements

Education :

High School diploma or equivalent, and a graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program.

Certification / Licensure :

Must possess American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification (ARRT - R), as well as a Louisiana or Mississippi license.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required.
