Must-Have :
Some CT experience and ability to work independently with patient transfers.
Description :
All paperwork is due 7 business days before the start time.
Candidates must have general certification requirements, including BLS.
Registered technologists do not need to be certified.
Experience with both X-ray and CT is required.
The department has 2 X-ray rooms, 1 CT room, 2 portable units, and 2 C-arms.
Floating to cover other areas such as the Emergency Room, Operating Room, Medical Surgical, and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit may be necessary.
Common imaging studies performed include general X-ray and general CT.
CT guided procedures and interventional radiology skills are not required.
Familiarity with contrast administration is needed; starting IVs is not required.
Candidates should be comfortable working alone at times.
The average number of scans performed is approximately 10 on weekends and 40 on weekdays.
The department utilizes Epic for electronic medical records and Novarad for picture archiving and communication.
Department-specific equipment includes Shimadzu X-ray rooms, GE C-arms, Fugi portable X-ray, and Siemens 64-slice CT scanner.
There are no Registered Radiology Assistants in the department.
Tele-radiology services are available 24 / 7.
Shifts and scheduling are determined by the manager, with potential evening shifts from 2 PM to 10 : 30 PM and night shifts from 10 PM to 6 : 30 AM.
Weekend requirements are potentially every third weekend, based on experience and manager evaluation.
Holidays may be required, depending on experience and manager assessment.
Weekend call or standby responsibilities may be required, with the rotation covering only every third weekend, as evaluated by management.
Preferred scrub color is wine; if travelers do not have wine scrubs, clean, solid, professional scrubs are acceptable.
Department-specific orientation may last up to 1 week during the day shift, with minimal Epic training scheduled for the first week.
