4th Year Student of Medical Lab Scientist Program

Overview

Job Summary :

Performs a variety of pre-analytic, analytic and post analytic laboratory duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities :

Performs waived and moderate complex testing with appropriate training and competency, sweat chloride collections, EKG’s, etc.

Under supervision, reports test results as appropriate.

Sorts and processes routine and specific high-level specimens received by the lab-including multistep technical processing (i.e. Histology, Microbiology, Cytology, etc.). Ensures correct processing and packaging for esoteric send out tests.

Coordinates a simultaneous series of tasks accurately, including STAT orders and fluctuation in workload, prioritizing work to complete within scheduled hours and established turnaround times.

Inventory management, equipment cleaning, maintenance, loading, etc.

Boone Health has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.

Minimum Qualifications :

Degree : High School Diploma or GED

Experience : 2-5 years

Supervisor Experience : None Required

Licenses & Certification : None Required
