Position Summary :
This Application Administration Supervisor position is located in Topeka, at the Eisenhower State Office Building, and is within the Office of Information Technology Services. This position manages the Operations Support Team and RWM Team developers and system administrator and is responsible for the operation, performance and welfare of the unit. The unit is responsible for providing excellent, efficient and effective application support while adhering to set bureau and agency policies and directions. This team is responsible for IT support for the Division of Field Operations, Division of Project Delivery and the implementation and maintenance of core applications and solutions from which other business applications will be built upon. This includes electronic form development, workflow solutions, electronic signature applications, document management services and agency scanning operations.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following :
Supervises application developers and the system administrator, manages customer relationships, makes presentations, sets direction and priorities for the team and removes roadblocks that impede their ability to complete their tasks in a timely manner.Assists users with requests for information, requests for assistance, or suggestions for system improvement.Defines or documents requirements and specifications or develops a design for new or modified application software which conforms to system architecture and technical direction.Acquires or customizes program code for business applications which meets objectives of : design, cost and schedule; user and stakeholder requirements; and quality standards.Manages software releases or documentation updates and observes the organization's procedures for configuration management.Develops requirements for contracts with third-party service providers and evaluates the qualifications of potential contractors.Develops or maintains procedures and reference material for system operation and technical support.Researches information technologies of potential benefit to the organization and develops proof-of-concept prototypes as needed.Configures or adjusts system software for desired features and performance and tests, diagnoses & repairs as needed.Note : If you would like to view the full Position Description, please contact us at KDOT.HQ.JobApps@ks.gov
Qualifications :
Minimum Qualifications :
Successful completion of 24 hours in computer science coursework or certification and four years of experience coding, testing, and debugging application programs ORFive years of experience coding, testing, and debugging application programs.Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency. Transcripts are required for education to be considered.Preferred Qualifications :
Three years of experience leading an information technology team, supervising project managers and lead workers, managing customer relationships, making presentations, and taking on tough challenges.Knowledge of effective management principles, fiscal administration, project management and supervision techniques.Experience in document management, electronic forms, workflow and electronic signature applications.Development experience using the Microsoft .Net environment.Knowledge of the capabilities and limitations of telecommunications, computer processing, video and database technologies and their impact upon organizations.Licensing & Certifications :
Computer Science coursework or IT certification is preferred.Post-Offer / Pre-employment Requirements :
