Shelter Youth and Family Services encourages the application of all bilingual applicants to work with our client community. Certification testing is set by DCFS.

POSITION OVERVIEW The Coordinator for the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC) Program will oversee the operations of a therapeutic treatment program serving up to 12 girls, ages 12-18, who have been identified as survivors of human trafficking. This role requires a highly skilled, compassionate leader who will be responsible for the safety, well-being, and support of the clients, as well as the supervision and development of staff. The Coordinator will provide direct supervision to Youth Care Specialists, will ensure daily programming and structure is adhered to, comply with daily documentation, promote a positive and safe culture among the residents and staff, and ensure adequate shift coverage.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

SUPERVISION OF YOUTH CARE SPECIALISTS

  • Oversee and manage the daily routines of youth, ensuring the appropriate allocation of staff and resources to meet both individual and environmental needs.
  • Provide feedback, intervention and / or redirection of all Youth Care Specialists interactions that are not within the trauma response framework.
  • Provide on the job training and mentoring to staff and lead staff in trauma-informed behavior management techniques.
  • Provide individual supervision for each Youth Care Specialists.
  • Evaluate the job performance of each Youth Care Specialists.
  • Plan and conduct monthly staff meetings.
  • Prepare staff schedules in a timely, proactive manner to always secure adequate staff to resident ratios.
  • Coordinate and ensure that all shift-related client and staff documentation is completed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure the maintenance of agency policies and procedures and the Department of Children and Family Services "Code of Ethics for Child Welfare Professionals."

HOUSE MANAGEMENT

  • Maintain appropriate records regarding all purchases and maintain such purchases in accordance with allotted funds.
  • Plan for the purchase of required household and office supplies.
  • Complete proper maintenance requests and ensure all maintenance tasks on facility and equipment are completed.
  • Ensure all emergency protocols are conducted and recorded in compliance with Performance Quality Improvement.
  • Ensure that the home is well-maintained and meets all DCFS health and safety regulations.
  • DIRECT SERVICES

  • Receive and review all program referrals for appropriateness and schedule preplacement interviews with the multidisciplinary team to include the youth, their assigned caseworker, Residential Treatment Supervisor, Caseworker, and Clinical team.
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team to discuss youth short term and long-term goals and transition and discharge planning.
  • Assist with coordinating all transportation, medical, therapy, school, volunteer, and parental activities.
  • Provide direct support to residents, including crisis intervention, behavior management, and emotional support, ensuring individual needs are met.
  • Collaborate with clinical and case management teams to assess client needs, develop individualized treatment plans and track progress.
  • Promote a trauma-informed and culturally sensitive approach to care, prioritizing the safety, dignity, and well-being of each resident.
  • PROGRAM ADMINISTRATION

  • Participate in interviewing Youth Care Specialists.
  • Work with Residential Treatment Supervisor to plan, implement and supervise the treatment routine.
  • Submit monthly stats and placement forms.
  • Attend required DCFS meetings and training.
  • Approve payroll for each Youth Care Specialist.
  • Maintain records and required data for each resident.
  • Carry out all duties as designated by the Residential Treatment Supervisor.
  • ACCOUNTABILITY

    The Residential Treatment Coordinator shall be supervised by and is accountable to the Residential Treatment Supervisor.

    HOURS OF EMPLOYMENT Hours and days shall be scheduled according to the needs of the program. The primary hours of the coordinator will be four days per week 1pm-11pm.

    QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be at least 25 years of age in accordance with the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services Licensing Standards for QRTP.
  • Bachelor's Degree in social service or related field required from an accredited school and a minimum of two years of residential experience required.
  • 1-2 years supervisory experience required.
  • Demonstrated commitment to and understanding of Shelter's mission, vision, and values.
  • Must meet Child Care Facility Driver requirements in accordance with the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, an automobile, and adequate automobile insurance.
  • Must complete a Medical and T.B. test providing proof of results.
  • Must be fingerprinted by the State of Illinois and must submit to a full Background Check through the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.
  • Must submit official educational transcripts from the last school in which a degree was awarded.
  • Must become certified in CPR / First Aid, CPI, and complete in service Think Trauma and Human Trafficking training and New Hire Orientation before working independently.
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs.
  • Must be available to provide scheduled 24-hour on-call support for staff during scheduled workdays.
