St. David’s Foundation advances health equity in Central Texas through investment and action. The Foundation operates the nation’s largest mobile charity dental program, delivering free, high-quality care to children in Title I schools across five counties.
Position Summary
The Clinical Director provides strategic and hands-on leadership for one of the largest mobile dental programs in the country. This role ensures consistent, high-quality, patient-centered care while mentoring providers, strengthening clinical operations, and advancing the Foundation’s mission to improve access and outcomes for underserved children.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and mentor dentists, hygienists, and clinical staff across multiple mobile sites
Establish and maintain clinical standards, protocols, and quality assurance systems
Provide direct patient care (~25–30% of time), modeling excellence in pediatric dentistry
Ensure compliance with all regulatory, licensure, safety, and infection control standards
Partner with operations and leadership to improve efficiency, systems, and care delivery
Oversee clinical outcomes, program evaluation, and continuous improvement initiatives
Serve as a clinical ambassador and advocate for oral health equity in the community
Qualifications
DDS or DMD from an accredited institution
Active Texas dental license (or eligibility)
Minimum 15 years of dental leadership experience, preferably in pediatric, nonprofit, public health, or mobile care settings
Strong clinical, mentoring, and operational leadership skills
Commitment to health equity, trauma-informed care, and community service
Preferred
Experience in mobile dentistry or multi-site operations
Bilingual English / Spanish
Master’s degree in Public Health, Business, or Healthcare Administration
