Key Responsibilities

• Source, evaluate, and select new suppliers for raw materials and components.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to optimize costs and lead times.
• Generate and manage purchase orders for production materials, MRO, and services.
• Monitor inventory levels and material availability to prevent production stoppages.
• Identify and implement cost reduction initiatives without compromising quality or supply.
• Collaborate with engineering and production to ensure material specifications are met.
• Resolve supplier issues related to quality, delivery, and invoice discrepancies.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proven experience in direct material purchasing within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong negotiation, supplier relationship management, and contract administration skills.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for purchasing and inventory control.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
• Demonstrated track record of achieving cost savings and improving supplier performance.

Bonus Qualifications

• Familiarity with manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, injection molding, assembly).
• Experience with global sourcing and international logistics.
• Proven track record in cost reduction initiatives or value engineering projects.
• Advanced proficiency with ERP/MRP systems for data analysis and process improvement.
