Starting Salary : $89,112.00

New hires are paid the starting rate. Current employees' pay rate is determined by their job title and years of service

This position serves as the manager of the Affordable Requirements Ordinance (ARO), which coordinates the production of affordable housing units and other contributions generated by market-rate development.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Manages and oversees the implementation of the ARO from the time a project triggers the ARO through the completion of the 30-year ARO term
• Manages and oversees work of ARO Project Coordinator
• Staff ARO-related policy efforts, including the Inclusionary Housing Task Force
• Serves as the primary contact and liaison on the ARO for elected officials, Mayor's Office, Plan Commission, Chicago Community Land Trust, and other City departments and community organizations
• Manages delegate agency contracts, as applicable
• Ensures best practices and performance are being realized in the implementation of the program, including drafting and maintaining rules and policies to ensure that any proposed exceptions are thoughtfully considered, and the program runs smoothly and reaches its intended impact
• Prepares or oversees the preparation of quarterly reports on ARO and related funds, prepares narrative summaries and statistical reports of program and Affordable Housing Fund activities, as well as bi-weekly Mayors reports and any other requested reports
• Manages and updates design and functionality of ARO database and ARO website
