[job_card.job_description]Work in a 55-bed PCU / Stepdown unit on the 4th Floor East Wing of an acute care hospital Adult patient population, with rare cases of patients aged 15 and older Common diagnoses include CVA, TIA, shortness of breath, COVID, subdural hematoma, and weakness RN to patient ratio is 1 : 4 for both day and night shifts Handles 12-hour night shifts (1830-0630) with every other weekend required Utilizes Epic EMR and Alaris IV pumps, with mechanical lifts available in every other room Floating may be required, typically to med-surg areas depending on need Nursing team supported by CNAs, charge nurse, educator, care managers, social workers, dieticians, PT, and OT Responsible for managing telemetry, administering common PCU drips and medications including PCA pumps, cardizem, and insulin Artificial nails are prohibited for all nursing staff in direct patient care Scrub color is navy blue for RNs Must pass an open-book skills exam during orientation with a score of 90% or higher Emphasis on strong teamwork, hourly rounding, and patient responsiveness Holiday coverage may be required per unit guidelines Active NE or compact RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration Minimum of 2 years recent PCU / Stepdown nursing experience required Certifications required : ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS (all active, not pending) Telemetry competency required Epic EMR experience preferred Must submit a copy of driver's license for address verification Must provide two references : one supervisor reference from within the past 12 months and one peer or supervisor reference from within the past 3 years Candidates may not have been employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and Dignity, within the past year Candidate's permanent residence must be at least 50 miles from the facility as verified by driver's license High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts
