Dental Assistant

Introduction

The Department of Health Services (DHS) , Central Wisconsin Center (CWC) is recruiting for a Dental Assistant. This position will typically work Monday-Friday with daytime hours.

CWC provides short-term and long-term residential services to assist people living with intellectual disabilities in acquiring the personal skills needed to reach their highest potential. CWC is located at 317 Knutson Drive on the North side of Madison.

Position Summary

As a Dental Assistant, you will provide both chairside and standing dental assistance and some administrative support in CWC's Dental Clinic. In this role, you will provide services to patients with developmental disabilities and must be able to use practical experience, adjust to the dentist's preferred methods of operation and keep current on dental assisting, dental materials, and infection control procedures.

CWC has an overall Active Treatment philosophy of using evidence-based strategies, practices and programs which target resident's individual preferences and needs.

Salary Information

The starting pay for this position is $25.21 per hour, plus excellent benefits. A 12-month probationary period is required.

A $2,000 sign-on bonus applies to those with no prior state service in the last five years; who stay with CWC in the position until completing probation. Bonus will be split, $1,000 upon hire and $1,000 after completing probation.

Pay for current or former state employees will be set based on the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. This position is in pay schedule and range 06 / 11.
