CAD Technician

TITLE: CAD Technician I

REPORTS TO: Senior Engineer

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Drafting with at least one year of relevant experience and ability to meet the requirements listed below

· Background or experience in agriculture preferred but not required

· Strong foresight, analytical skills, logical thinking, systematic and orderly planning, and attention to detail

· Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills

· Ability to work independently or collaboratively as part of a team

· Client-focused professional with a professional and confident demeanor

· Positive, results-oriented attitude

· Proficient in AutoCAD

· AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred but not required

· MS Office

· Fundamentals of technical drawing

HOURLY RATE: $25.00 – $28.00

SUMMARY

CAD Technician I will be capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and developing and maintaining positive working relationships with contacts both inside and outside the company. It is expected that the CAD Technician I will achieve results with supervision.

RESPONSIBILITIES

CAD Tech I position is responsible for the following tasks, including, but not limited to:

· Working closely with design engineers

· Designing a variety of engineered systems

· Developing plans and specifications

· Preparing calculations

· Preparing engineering cost opinions

· Supporting field surveys

· Written and verbal communication with state and local agencies for both planning and regulatory projects

· Performing on-site materials testing

· Client communication

· Other duties as assigned

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS:

· Support with grading plans

· Construction detail drawings

· Project and construction specifications

· Site surveying support

· Environmental engineering experience helpful

· Construction observation

· Communication and familiarity with government entities

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to work in outdoor weather conditions (heat, cold, snow, rain) for extended periods of time. This work requires positioning yourself on uneven terrain. Employees may have to move a variety of field equipment weighing up to 30 lbs. The employee is in a position that frequently communicates with other employees and clients. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. Employee will be operating a computer and other office equipment.
