SECURITY TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST
DEPARTMENT SUMMARY : The Security Services Department provides a safe and secure environment of the facilities and its occupants across Aultman Health System.
PURPOSE OF POSITION The Aultman Security Technology Specialist for Aultman Health System is responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing the security-related technology systems within the organization. This includes overseeing surveillance systems, access control, alarm systems, and other security technologies to ensure a safe and secure environment for patients, colleagues, and visitors across all of the health system’s campuses. The role involves collaborating closely with the Information Technology department at Aultman, security leaders and officers, and security vendors to implement technology solutions that enhance security operations and compliance with healthcare regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate degree.
- 5+ years in the healthcare security industry with increasing levels of responsibility is recommended.
- Valid driver’s license with 4 or fewer points required.
- Prior or current military or law enforcement experience preferred.
- Experience working with security systems such as CCTV, access control, intrusion alarms, and video management software.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Completion of the following certifications through the International Association of Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) o Certified Healthcare Security Officer (CHSO) o Certified Advanced Healthcare Security Officer (CAHSO) o Certified Healthcare Security Supervisor (CHSS)
RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS
Oversee the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of security technologies such as video surveillance, access control systems, alarm systems, and security communication devices.Monitor security systems performance and promptly address technical issues to minimize downtime and vulnerabilities.Collaborate with IT and facilities teams to ensure integration of security technologies with infrastructure and network systems across the health system.Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers related to security technology procurement, maintenance, and upgrades.Assist in the development and implementation of security technology policies and procedures.Provide training and technical support to security personnel and campus colleagues on the use of security technologies.Ensure compliance of security technology systems with healthcare regulations and organizational standards, including HIPAA, The Joint Commission, ACHC, EMTALA, OSHA, etc.Maintain accurate documentation related to security technology assets, maintenance schedules, incident reports, and system configurations.Participate in security risk assessments and contribute technology solutions to mitigate identified risks.Stay current with emerging security technologies and recommend innovative solutions to improve organizational security operations.Other duties as assigned by the Regulatory & Compliance Coordinator or senior leadership.Completion of the following certification through the International Association of Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) within one year of appointment : o Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator (CHPA)SKILLS
Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Knowledge of network infrastructure, IP-based security systems, and software platforms related to security.Excellent communication skills for training and coordinating with various stakeholders.Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities efficiently.Familiarity with healthcare security compliance standards and regulations.WORKING CONDITIONS :
Primarily dayshift, M-F. Department requires 24x7 coverage. May be required to work off-shifts, weekends and / or holidays at the discretion of the Vice President of Facilities & Support Services.May be required to work on-call.May be assigned to different locations within the foundation.Primary uniform is business casual attire; may be required to wear security duty uniform as assigned.
