JOB SUMMARY Martin Marietta is seeking a Mechanic to operate service trucks and provide support at Randolph Mine working on and maintaining mining and construction Equipment. Job duties include but not limited to trouble shooting and repairs of heavy equipment, minor rebuilds, removal and installation of mechanical parts, repairing / replacing hydraulic lines, pumps, driveshafts, brakes, hydraulic cylinders, basic wiring troubleshooting and preventative maintenance on all types of diesel-powered equipment Location : Martin Marietta’s Missouri market is anchored by the Randolph Mine, a major underground limestone operation located in Randolph, Missouri. The facility supplies crushed stone and other aggregate products to contractors, municipalities, and producers across the Kansas City metropolitan area. Strategically positioned with both truck and rail access, the Randolph Mine supports regional infrastructure projects, road construction, and commercial development, making it a cornerstone of Martin Marietta’s Missouri Valley District operations. Key Duties and Responsibilities :
- Participate in safety programs and trainings, promoting Martin Marietta’s Guardian Angel culture
- Disassemble machines and remove parts for repairs using hand tools, chain falls, jacks or hoists
- Inspect equipment for signs of wear
- Collaborate with team members to repair move machine parts for equipment or transport materials between work areas
- Lubricate machines, machine parts or other equipment according to standards
- Tend to equipment such as conveyors to move materials through production processes
- Perform basic maintenance on heavy mobile equipment
- Perform welding and fabrication activities as needed
- Work in a team environment
- Clean work areas
- Proper wear of personal protective equipment
- Notify supervisors of needed repairs
QUALIFICATIONS Required Education and Experience :
Knowledge of mining equipment a plusAbility to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools, torque wrenches and impact wrenches and follow Technical Manual proceduresProficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of equipmentAbility to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposesProficient oral and written communication skillsMust be able to bend, stoop, stand, and lift 75 pounds continually throughout shift (8-12Must be able to work under stress and prioritize work requirements to meet the overall operational requirementsMust be able to work in both hot and cold environmentsMust be dependable, consistently at work and on time, follow instructions well, respond to management direction and solicit feedback to improve performanceDemonstrated ability to monitor their own work to ensure accuracy and quality is essentialHigh School Diploma or equivalent experience requiredValid Commercial driver’s license with a clean driving record is requiredMust be able to pass pre-employment drug screeningSkills :
