The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research at UIC, located in a large metro area, is seeking full-time IT Technical Associate (Tableau Developer). Responsibilities : Under direction, create, develop, & maintain dashboards & other visualization tools that support the department's data analysis & reporting needs. Collaborate with department to understand data needs & requirements & translate into technical solutions. Synthesize client needs & utilize data analytics architecture, tools, & teams to deliver solutions. Work with the IT dept & others to ensure data is properly integrated & structured for reporting & analysis. Analyze data to identify trends & provide insights to stakeholders. Monitor / maintain the integrity of data. Perform analysis using SQL, modeling, & other quantitative techniques to resolve business data issues and / or recommend courses of action. Utilize strategies that reduce data issues with a bias for preventing recurrence & increase the consistency / confidence of data used for decision making. Create & maintain documentation for data management processes, reports, & analysis, including documenting data sources, data definitions, data transformations, & other relevant information. Learn new data analytics technologies & participate in data analytics tool evaluation, selection, & implementation. Train stakeholders on the use of Tableau and / or Power BI & other data visualization tools. Coordinate & develop data education programs to enhance data literacy. Participate in project activities & provide project status to stakeholders. Escalate issues & assess & address risks to ensure project success. Provide input & support for upgrades, capacity planning, & best practices. Other duties as assigned. Position minimally requires a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or a related field & 5 years of professional IT experience with Business Systems Analysis including demonstrated experience with analysis & interpretation of functional business & data requirements.
