Make cabinets, create custom millwork and laminate fabrication.
Construct, demolish, layout, construct, build wall partitions, ceilings, drop ceiling systems and floor framing.
Remove, replace and install doors, windows, construct stairs.
Prepare stock lists and order materials.
Install door closers and all hardware systems.
Layout and install kitchens and bathrooms.
Set up for events.
Provide emergency response and shift coverage.
Ability to work efficiently, productively, and with minimal supervision.
Follow safety precautions with appropriate PPE; providing an environment for personal and public safety.
Follow department policies.
Perform all other duties as assigned for the maintenance and support of University facilities and functions.
Required skills include successful completion of a practical test in finish carpentry work, minimum of two years of experience in commercial custom cabinet fabrication, minimum of five year's experience performing finish carpentry work, ability to work from ladders and lift heavy items up to 50 lbs, must provide own hand tools for use on the job, arithmetic and measurement skills, ability to safely operate stationary heavy duty carpentry industrial machines, ability to speak, read, understand and write fluently in the English language, must have and maintain a valid Massachusetts driver's license, required to drive throughout the university to work areas by use of your own automobile, knowledge of basic safety procedures.
