Summary: This position is assigned to the Base Civil Engineering (BCE) Shop, 124 Civil Engineer Squadron (CES), Idaho Air National Guard (IDANG), functioning within the State of Idaho - Military Division. The primary purpose of this position is to oversee electrical contractors' work, non-journeyman apprentice and journeyman electrical work, and to provide electrical maintenance and minor construction services in the electrical trades.

MILITARY DIVISION MANDATORY QUESTIONS:

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:

(1) Must be an enlisted member of the Idaho National Guard. This requirement will be waived. Please indicate your request for a waiver.

(2) Must have and maintain a valid and unrestricted state issued driver's license (from any state).Provide your driver's license number, issuing state, license expiration date, and the full name specified on the license.(Do not provide a copy of your driver's license.)

(3) Must have, or be eligible to obtain, and maintain a favorable T1 Federal Background Investigation. If a selected candidate does not have a current favorable T1, as a condition of employment he/she must submit to the investigation process immediately upon hire/appointment. (At a minimum, a favorable suitability determination by the State Security Manager is required prior to appointment into this position.)

(4) Must have and maintain a current Idaho Journeyman Electrician license. (Attach a copy of current license to your application.)

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Must have 24-months of experience performing work related to the knowledge requirements below. Submit a paragraph for each knowledge requirement below that demonstrates the required experience and describes competence in applying the knowledge. Education and training may be used to offset experience.

(1) Describe your knowledge of purchasing and contracting methods. Explain past duties you have performed in supervising contracts.

(2) Describe your skill in commercial, industrial and residential electrical wiring techniques.

(3) Describe your ability in trouble shooting fire alarms, security alarms, information technology data systems, and control systems.

(4) Describe your skill and ability of reading and interpreting contract and construction documents.

(5) Describe your skill in ordering repair parts and equipment in your work experience.

(6) Describe your ability supervising individuals in the electrical field or other trades. Include levels of supervisory positions held, how many journeyman level technicians and apprentices you have overseen, and what types of work you supervised.
