Description
The Work and Organization Studies (WOS) group at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Sloan School located in Cambridge, MA is hiring a tenure-track faculty member to start July 1, 2026 , or as soon thereafter as possible. The faculty member’s teaching and research should focus on work, employment, and organizational issues. The rank is open, and junior and senior candidates at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Full Professor levels will be considered.
Faculty responsibilities include teaching courses and conducting research related to Work and Organization Studies. WOS has current teaching needs in courses on organizational processes, power and politics, as well as other courses on work, employment, and organizational issues.
Qualifications
At the Assistant Professor level, candidates must possess a Ph.D. in a field related to Work and Organization Studies, such as Sociology, Organizational Behavior, Industrial Relations, Social Psychology, Political Science, or Economics, at the start of employment. At the Associate Professor and Full Professor levels, a Ph.D. and demonstrated research expertise is required.
