American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Stepdown position with charge nurse capabilities and advanced cardiac monitoring experience in Minnesota.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a Stepdown unit at a critical access hospital designated as a Level IV trauma centerPatients include cardiac, respiratory, metabolic, post-surgical, and complex medical cases such as CHF, A-Fib with RVR, DKA, ETOH withdrawal, ARDS, pneumonia, sepsis, delirium, and a variety of surgical casesNurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 2 for all shiftsRequired to work every third weekend on 12-hour shifts (7a-7p or 7p-7a)Floating to Med / Surg and various departments as needed, including affiliated hospitalsNo on-call responsibilitiesEpic (Excellian) is used for electronic charting and experience is requiredSpecialized equipment includes NICOM and Nihon Kohden monitorsWill be required to function as a charge nurse when neededWill assist in the management of patients undergoing special procedures such as central and ART line insertion and cardioversionTeam includes support for various critical and complex cases involving rapid interventionNavy blue scrubs are requiredParking is free in any unrestricted spaceIdeally, requested time off should not exceed 5 daysReturning employees must have a 3-month break from their last perm or per diem shift\n \n Requirements\n
Active MN RN license or eligibility for a pending licenseMinimum of 2 years experience in MS / Tele, Telemetry, PCU / DOU / IMC / StepdownCharge nurse experience is requiredCurrent certifications in ACLS, BLS, and PALS are required; NRP is preferredExperience in cardiac monitoring including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and use of Rapid Response TeamsExperience with IV therapy including arterial and central line management, blood product administration, starting IVs, and PICC line careProficiency with Epic (Excellian) EMR requiredCandidates must live more than 100 miles from the facilityFirst-time travelers are not accepted\n Benefits\n
