Job Description

A Registered Nurse is responsible for performing the nursing process as a basis for patient care. RNs provide direction and oversight to other licensed and non-licensed staff, showing compassion to recipients of services and co-workers through integrity, stewardship, empowerment, and professional excellence.

Responsibilities

• Assess care needs and develop plans of care in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team.
• Provide / coordinate nursing care to individuals and groups.
• Teach persons served families and manage the milieu.
• Communicate with and educate families / significant others in discharge / after care planning.
• Ensure a safe and secure environment for patients and staff.
• Document, report, and verify all necessary information according to established policies.
• Monitor and report potential risks to patient safety.
• Create a welcoming environment by following quality improvement standards.
• Provide care in various clinical settings with diverse populations.
• Function as a clinical leader, delegating staff assignments and promoting staff development.
• Maintain utilization and review of patient care protocols and standards.
• Uphold the healing ministry of Christ through relationships that honor integrity, stewardship, and professional excellence.
• Provide spiritual, emotional, social, mental, and physical support to patients.
