A company is looking for a VP, New York State Counsel.
Key Responsibilities
Provide underwriting support and counsel related to real estate title insurance commitments and policies
Analyze recorded documents to determine title conditions and insurability, and explain title issues to customers and managers
Collaborate with title agents and escrow staff to ensure timely closings and assist with title commitment and policy questions
Required Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) and licensed attorney in good standing with 5+ years of title underwriting or related real estate law experience preferred
Familiarity with real estate law and understanding of title and settlement processes
General knowledge of Federal and State regulations related to real estate title insurance
Understanding of underwriting real estate transactions for title insurance policies
Ability to collaborate effectively and act decisively in a team environment
