Job Description
We are seeking a Radiation Oncology Physician Assistant for a 20-day locum tenens assignment in New York. This opportunity begins with orientation on Jan 2, 2026, and clinical work commencing Jan 5, 2026. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with shifts from 7 : 00 to 17 : 00. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive care to oncology patients, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities and Duties
Assess, diagnose, monitor, and manage care for patients with cancer and other benign and malignant tumors and diseasesPerform arterial puncture and blood gas samplingProvide debridement and general care for superficial wounds and minor superficial surgical proceduresImplement therapeutic interventions for specific conditions as appropriateInsert and remove non-weighted nasogastric or oro-gastric tubesOrder and interpret diagnostic testing and therapeutic modalities, including laboratory tests, medications, hemodynamic monitoring, treatments, IV fluids and electrolytes, EMG, electrocardiogram, and radiologic examinations such as arthrogram, ultrasound, CT, MRI, and bone scan studiesPerform incision and drainage of superficial abscessesPerform urinary bladder catheterization (short term and indwelling) such as Robinson, coudé, FoleyPerform venous punctures for blood sampling, cultures, and IV catheterizationComplete Death Certificate ProtocolsRemove arterial catheters, central venous catheters, and chest tubesConduct fine needle aspiration and punch biopsy of skinAdditional Information
Must have an active NY licenseRequired certifications : Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)Experience in Hematology / Oncology and Radiation Oncology preferredBenefits
