Job Summary
The Mitigation Technician is responsible for performing water, mold, and fire damage mitigation, as well as asbestos and lead-containing material abatement in residential and commercial properties. This role supports emergency response operations, participates in demolition and containment setup, and ensures all work complies with company, state, and federal safety regulations.
Essential Job Duties
Mitigation Responsibilities
- Perform water extraction, structural drying, and mitigation services.
- Conduct mold and fire remediation following company and industry standards.
- Perform demolition and deconstruction of affected materials.
- Set up, monitor, and remove drying equipment.
- Conduct detailed cleanup and debris removal, including contaminated materials.
- Complete all required documentation (daily progress reports, moisture logs, jobsite photos, diagrams).
- Coordinate daily with Project Managers and other technicians regarding job status and responsibilities.
- Maintain professional communication with clients, vendors, and team members.
- Work a varied schedule, including participation in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergency response.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of company vehicles, equipment, and job sites.
- Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and industry best practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Abatement Responsibilities
Perform asbestos, lead, and other hazardous material abatement in accordance with Hawaii DOH, EPA, and OSHA regulations.Assist in pre- and post-abatement activities, including site preparation, air monitoring coordination, and final cleaning.Safely construct and maintain containments, negative air systems, decon units, and work zones.Conduct regulated material removal, bagging, labeling, sealing, and proper disposal.Follow all safety procedures related to hazardous material handling.What you’ll need in order to succeed :

Construction, restoration, or abatement experience preferred.Experience with demolition or hazardous material handling a plus.Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.Education and Preferred Certifications
