The Cypress of Charlotte is an upscale senior living retirement community located in the SouthPark area in Charlotte, NC. We currently have a vacancy for a Activities Assistant / CNA to work full-time in our Memory Day Program assisting residents with activities and personal care to work the following schedule :
- Tuesdays and Thursday 8 : 00 a.m. - 8 : 00 p.m. required +1 Rotating day
- Total : 3 twelve hour shifts per week
The rate of pay for this role is $16.50-$17.45 based on experience, plus potential shift differentials depending on shift AND a $500 sign on bonus!
This person will be responsible for promoting creative and cognitively stimulating activities, providing quality assistance with activities of daily living to enable residents to maintain independent living for as long as appropriate and possible, in addition to the following duties :
To assist with the planning and implementing of the Memory Day Program scheduleSet up refreshments before the group & clean up after group dismisses - that would include making sure there were enough cups, utensils, etc.Working with dining for the ordering of lunches for the week - being responsible for picking up lunchesBe aware of members needs - and ready to engage and encourage if a member is not able or uninterested in a planned activityAssist a member from their home and back if neededAssist with transportation, transfers or ambulation as resident's condition warrants.Provide reminders to take medication.Facilitate exercise programs and encourage resident to participate in campus activities.Offer companionship for off campus excursions / appointments / shopping.Provide ambulation / wheelchair assistance for on campus events.Assist with ADL's, dressing / bathing, meal preparation and household tasks including light laundry, dishes and bed making. This can include pet care as well.Here are a few of the qualifications we need you to have :
Active North Carolina CNA license.Must have experience in geriatrics, and with Dementia and Alzheimer's.Valid driver's license with clean driving record.Ability to work in an environment with pets and assist residents with their pet's needs (i.e. walking, feeding, cleaning up after).Proficient skills and knowledge of Personal Care Attendant duties and responsibilities.Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend written and oral instructions in English.PERKS OUTSIDE OF THE PAYCHECK :
