Regional Fleet Manager - Shorewood, IL

The Regional Fleet Manager provides leadership and oversight of a high-volume tractor-trailer fleet across several states, managing 24-50 drivers as well as dispatch and traffic operations. This role is accountable for DOT compliance, safety, maintenance, cost efficiency, and operational excellence, while ensuring timely deliveries to depots, distribution centers, and retail locations. Success in this position requires strong leadership, knowledge of transportation logistics, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

• Expertise in fleet operations and trucking terminal management, including dispatching, scheduling, and yard management.
• Strong knowledge of DOT rules, regulations, safety standards, maintenance, and repairs of tractor-trailer fleets.
• Proven ability to optimize transportation logistics costs and service performance.
• Skilled in managing driver workforce including hiring, retention, engagement, employee relations, and performance management.
• Ability to effectively respond to load and shipping inquiries and partner with DC and Depot operations.
• Working knowledge of back haul operations

• Exceptional multi-tasking and prioritization skills in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to collaborate across logistics, HR, and operations teams.

Minimum Qualifications

• Valid CDL Class A license.
• 5-8 years of fleet or terminal management experience with oversight of large driver teams.
• Ability to work 10-12 hour days, including overnight shifts as needed.
• Local and regional travel required in emergency situations

Physical Demands

• Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, push, pull, climb, balance, and crouch.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. without assistance and up to 100 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Comfortable working under all types of weather conditions in both office and yard environments
