Job Details

• ER Volume is projected to be 18K annually
• 24hr physician coverage
• 12hr Physician shifts
• APP coverage will be added as needed
• Meditech EMR
• New Free Standing facility
• Part of Lewis Gale Health System
• ABEM / ABEOM required
• BE / BC-must be certified within 7 years of completing residency
• History of taking ATLS required
• If not EM Boarded, requires ACLS
• Moonlighting residents-no

Facility Information

10,000-square-foot facility will be named LewisGale Medical Center Blue Hills ER and be staffed with board-certified emergency room physicians and nurses 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The facility provides the same services as an emergency room housed within a hospital.

The facility is affiliated with Salem based LewisGale Medical Center and will employ over 30 staffers, including emergency physicians and nurses. The center will include walk-in and ambulance entrances, eight private treatment rooms, digital ultrasound, diagnostic X-rays, CT capabilities, and an on-site laboratory.

"This facility will also have the same advanced medical technologies and life-saving services that are available at our main ER on the medical center campus and at our freestanding Cave Spring ER. With this new ER, patients who live and work in this area will be able to receive services faster, resulting in better health outcomes."
