Description

The Thomson-Hood Veterans Center is a 285-bed long-term care facility located in beautiful Wilmore, Kentuckythat is committed to serving Kentucky's Veterans by fostering independence, preserving dignity, and providingcompassionate care.

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position is responsible for caring for the residents of Thomson-HoodVeterans Center.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to :

• Performs nursing duties under direction of a Registered Nurse or Physician.
• Administers medication and treatments as prescribed.
• Collects assessment data and cares for our veterans within the scope of the LPN clinical skills.

Preferred Skills and Abilities :

This position, in the Thomson-Hood Veterans Center Nursing Services Department, in Jessamine County has anapproved Locality Premium of $12.45 in compliance with 101 KAR 2 : 034 Section 9(1). Locality Premium is inaddition to the starting base pay of $23.90

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.) : Must be licensed in Kentucky as a practical nurse or must have a valid work permit issued by the Kentucky Board of Nursing. Must maintain any required licensure (s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification. Employing agency is responsible for ensuring employee possesses and maintains required licensure(s), certification(s) or other credentials.

Working Conditions

Duties may involve close work with possibly hostile mental patients. May be exposed to infectious waste, diseases and conditions which requires the following of safety procedures.

Probationary Period

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
