Payroll Analyst

Position Summary

The Payroll Analyst plays a key role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for union employees across multiple states. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, strong knowledge of payroll laws, and the ability to interpret and apply union contracts. The Payroll Analyst will collaborate closely with internal departments, union representatives, and external auditors to maintain compliance and uphold the integrity of payroll operations.

This is a hybrid position , requiring in-office presence three days per week .

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Process weekly payrolls for assigned groups, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Audit and verify timekeeping records for compliance with company and union standards
• Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and process adjustments as needed
• Cross-check other team members payroll entries for accuracy
• Collaborate with union representatives and management to ensure adherence to union contracts
• Prepare wires and check requests for weekly, monthly, and quarterly union dues, deductions, and benefit contributions
• Manage payroll garnishments, including setup, cancellation, and correspondence with agencies
• Support internal and external audits with required documentation and reports
• Maintain organized payroll records and filing systems
• Coordinate with the accounting department to ensure accurate funding, direct deposits, and general ledger reconciliation
• Update spreadsheets for payroll-related payments and disbursements
• Verify and log manual checks for accuracy and validity
