Job Summary :
Join the dynamic team at Advocate South Suburban Hospital as a Cath IR Rad Tech. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art facility, supporting vascular and cardiac interventions, including electrophysiology and interventional radiology procedures. If you have at least 2 years of experience and are comfortable scrubbed into high-acuity procedures, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities :
Support and operate advanced imaging equipment such as Philips Azurion and related department-specific tools for cardiac and peripheral procedures.
Assist procedural physicians by maintaining sterile technique and supporting intra-procedure workflows.
Support complex electrophysiology (EP) and interventional radiology (IR) procedures, including ablations, device implants, and diagnostic studies.
Ensure radiation safety standards are upheld at all times.
Collaborate with a team comprising radiology technologists, RNs, and department managers to deliver exceptional patient care.
Participate in weekend and on-call rotations, providing coverage as scheduled.
Maintain accurate documentation within the EPIC EMR system.
Certifications & Licenses :
Required : IL Radiology Technologist License
Certifications : BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association certified)
Additional certifications such as NIHSS or other specialty certifications are a plus.
Qualifications & Skills :
Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrophysiology (EP), interventional radiology (IR), or comparable cardiac catheterization procedures.
Ability to scrub into complex procedures with procedural physicians, operate imaging and procedural equipment, and support intra-procedure workflows.
Strong understanding of sterile techniques, radiation safety, and Cath / EP / IR supplies and equipment.
Proficient in supporting high-acuity cardiac and vascular procedures, including arrhythmia studies, ablations, device implants, and peripheral interventions.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Flexibility to participate in weekend on-call (1 weekend / month), after-hours shifts, and holiday coverage.
Preferred Education & Experience :
Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Radiologic Technology, Cardiac Technology, or related healthcare field.
Prior experience working with Philips Azurion imaging systems, Carto EP Ablations, PFA Ablations, and other specialized interventional equipment.
Experience working in a Level II Trauma Center or similar high-volume hospital environment.
Familiarity with EMR systems, preferably EPIC.

Flexible scheduling cycle, typically 6 weeks at a time.
One major holiday during the contract period.
RTO requests considered depending on dates; up to 7 days of time off can be approved if extending the contract.
