Must be proficient in cardiac monitoring and emergency response including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias. Experience with post cardiac angiogram, pre / post cardiac cath, and cardiac procedures is essential. Gastrointestinal and renal experience, specifically feeding tube care and pre / post hemodialysis management, are needed. Proficiency in IV therapy and phlebotomy is required, including the ability to access ports, manage arterial lines, and administer blood products. Medication management skills must include heparin protocols and the ability to manage cardiac and vasoactive drips without titration. Neurological experience with CVA is necessary along with surgical drains experience. Respiratory care skills should cover various oxygen delivery methods and non-invasive airway management. Familiarity with isolation precautions and wound care is essential. Charge experience is preferred. Experience with electronic charting systems is required. Description : The position entails working in an Intermediate Care setting focusing on patients with cardiac issues. There is an average daily census of 38 patients. Weekend coverage is required, with the expectation to work every other weekend. Floating to like units is necessary to meet facility needs. Candidates may discuss scheduling requests for block scheduling with management. It is preferred that candidates have experience in a teaching hospital and Level I trauma settings. This role involves a variety of patient diagnoses, including chest pain, heart failure, and COPD, among others. The position may require working with specialized equipment and performing various procedures related to cardiac care. Candidates should be prepared for a fast-paced environment with interdisciplinary support available. Additional responsibilities may include patient education and collaboration with healthcare team members to provide comprehensive care.
