This is a 13-week contract position.

\n\nSchedule\n

Night shift : 3x12 hours (19 : 00 - 07 : 30). Travelers must be available to work every other holiday and weekend.

\n\nJob Description\n

We are seeking an experienced CVICU Nurse for a critical care role involving the management of patients post open-heart surgery as well as other complex cardiac care needs. The nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

\n\nResponsibilities\n \n

Manage care for patients who are fresh open hearts, including CABG, MVR, AVR, and TAVR.

Assist with the insertion and removal of chest tubes and the management of ventilation support (BiPAP / CPAP).

Perform 12 lead EKGs and monitor cardiac rhythms.

Administer medications and blood products as required.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members including physical therapy and respiratory services.

Float to all ICUs and IMC units as needed.

\n \n\nRequired Experience / Certifications / Licensure\n \n

Minimum of 2 years of acute care experience, with CVICU experience preferred.

Current NJ RN License (or Compact License) at the time of submission.

BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.

Experience with devices such as Impella, IABP, and CRRT.

Ability to work with chronic and acute renal failure patients.
