Ability to care for 4-6 patients at a time. Description : This role involves caring for patients within a telemetry unit. The unit has a total of 22 beds with a staff of 30 members. Day shift consists of 1 charge nurse, 4 registered nurses, 2 patient care assistants, and 1 unit secretary. Night shift consists of 1 charge nurse, 4 registered nurses, and 1-2 patient care assistants. Patient ratios are a maximum of 6 : 1. Standard electronic medical record system used. Most recruited candidates should have IV insertion and maintenance, urinary catheter insertion and maintenance, and central line maintenance skills. Medication administration and documentation in the electronic health record are also required. Candidates with experience in PCI and CABG procedures are preferred. The ideal candidate should be friendly, positive, patient-centered, and team-focused. Scrubs should be royal blue. Weekends may be required as needed. No on-call responsibilities are associated with this position.
