The unit consists of 22 beds and requires a team of 30 staff members. The typical staffing includes 1 charge nurse and 4 registered nurses during the night shift. Patient ratios may reach a maximum of 6 : 1. Standard skills include IV insertions, urinary catheter management, central line maintenance, medication administration, and effective communication with the care team. Documentation in electronic health records is essential. The ideal candidate should possess a friendly, positive demeanor with a patient-centered and team-focused approach. Candidates with 2 years of neurosurgery or orthopedic nursing experience will be favored during the selection process. Flexibility for weekends and on-call duties as needed is expected.
