Department Information

The Center for Inclusive Design and Innovation (CIDI) was created by a merger of the Center for Assistive Technology and Environmental Access (CATEA) and AMAC Accessibility.

CATEA grew out of collaborations in the late 1970s between Georgia Tech Industrial Design students and local disability groups. Their efforts led to the establishment of CATEA in 1980 by the Board of Regents. For more than 20 years, CATEA provided services for Georgia's Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, established the statewide Tech Knowledge information clearinghouse on assistive technology, hosted various national resource centers on assistive technology for the workplace, provided accessibility audits for public facilities and information technology to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act, and produced computer skill and adult education programs. By the early 2000s, CATEA had transformed from a service-oriented center into a full-fledged research center.

Job Summary

The Manager of Quality Assurance is responsible for establishing and overseeing quality assurance processes to ensure that all educational technology products and services meet the highest standards of performance and reliability. This role involves coordinating testing efforts, developing quality metrics, and implementing best practices to enhance user satisfaction and system functionality. By collaborating with cross-functional teams, the Quality Assurance Manager ensures that technology solutions align with the institution's academic objectives and deliver a seamless experience for faculty and students. Responsible for setting employee goals, assessing performance, providing feedback, and making pay recommendations.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 - Develop and implement comprehensive quality assurance strategies and processes to ensure the delivery of high-quality educational technology products and services.

Job Duty 2 - Coordinate and oversee testing activities, including functional, regression, and performance testing, to validate that systems meet specified requirements.

Job Duty 3 - Create and maintain detailed documentation of testing procedures, quality metrics, and compliance standards to ensure transparency and accountability.

Job Duty 4 - Establish key performance indicators and benchmarks for assessing product quality and user satisfaction, analyzing results to inform decision-making.

Job Duty 5 - Train and mentor team members on quality assurance best practices, tools, and methodologies to enhance the overall effectiveness of the quality assurance team.

Job Duty 6 - Conduct regular audits and reviews of quality assurance processes to ensure adherence to institutional policies and industry standards.

Job Duty 7 - Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure alignment on quality expectations and product deliverables.

Job Duty 8 - Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in quality assurance and higher education to drive innovation and maintain best practices within the institution.

Job Duty 9 - Collaborate with development teams to identify and resolve defects and issues throughout the software development lifecycle, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

Job Duty 10 - Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Experience

Three or more years of relevant experience, including one or more years of supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Educational Qualifications

Master's Degree in related discipline or equivalent. Advanced certification may be preferred or required.

Proposed Salary

Proposed Salary Range : $90,979 - $132,785
