Billing Specialist
This position is responsible for the project billing process, to include project setup, responding to client inquiries and verifying chargeable time, in accordance with established accounting standards and billing policy.
Responsibilities :
Basic knowledge of Project Accounting billing process including contract documents, change orders and other contract modifications, approvals
Ability to create basic invoices and knowledge of different invoice templates and their uses
Ability to run basic reports to pull pertinent project information to update billing terms as needed
Accurately completes Revenue Adjustment forms for PM approval and enters approved Revenue Adjustments on projects
Participates in Billing and Post-Close Meetings and interacts with clients to resolve basic billing issues
Reviews and approves subconsultant invoices
Follows up with project managers to ensure all billing requests are fulfilled and completed within the deadlines
Process proposal logs, project initiation, and project action forms once billing cycle has ended
Open and close projects / tasks / sub-tasks
Understands the accounting life cycle of projects
Ability to create advance billing terms
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications :
Associate's Degree in Accounting or 5 year's experience in accounting / billing process with some college course work completed in
accounting
Intermediate to advanced computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint; any accounting software
Knowledge of Deltek Vantagepoint software is a plus but not required
5 year's experience in billing and receivables; 2 year's experience construction, engineering, utilities, or similar
