Day shift, 5x8-hour schedule from 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM.

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Pathologist Assistant responsible for preparing, examining, and dissecting surgical specimens. The role includes dictating gross descriptions and performing frozen sections as needed. The Pathologist Assistant will work within the Anatomic Pathology Histology Section and will primarily cover the Main Hospital location with potential coverage at the reference lab nearby.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and examine surgical specimens.
• Dictate gross descriptions of specimens.
• Perform frozen sectioning as required.
• Ensure proper specimen receipt and labeling.
• Conduct bone marrow sampling as needed.
• Engage in postmortem examinations.
• Assist in microscopic examination through tissue sampling.
• Utilize gross/microscopic photography and image analysis.
• Review and obtain patient clinical information, including scans and lab results.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Education: Graduate from a Baccalaureate Pathologists Assistant program or completion of a post-bachelor's program from an approved Pathologists Assistant school.
• Certification: PA(ASCP) - Required.
• 1 year of experience is required, but first-time travelers are accepted.
• EPIC experience preferred; training is provided in orientation.
