Introduction

The successful candidate for the Ambulance Billing Specialist role will bring a strong foundation in medical billing-specifically ambulance billing-combined with a working knowledge of healthcare compliance, regulatory protocols, and electronic medical records. They will demonstrate proficiency in interpreting patient care reports, ensuring compliance with Centers for Medicare / Medicaid Services (CMS) standards, and submitting accurate documentation for billing and reimbursement. An ideal candidate will also be detail-oriented, capable of analyzing complex data sets to support performance improvement and revenue optimization, and comfortable working within platforms like ImageTrend and Microsoft Office. They will possess the interpersonal and communication skills necessary to train new employees, coordinate with stakeholders, and work effectively across departments. Certification in medical billing and ambulance compliance (or willingness to obtain within designated timeframes) is essential. Candidates must show an ability to work independently while maintaining high accuracy and confidentiality, prioritize tasks efficiently, and contribute to the operational integrity and financial health of the ambulance transportation division.

Anticipated starting salary for this position may be up to mid-point depending on candidate's experience and internal equity. The full salary range is listed above and mid-point for this position is $32.28 hourly / $67,100.80 annually.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience :

• Associates Degree in Business, Finance or related field from an accredited educational institution.
• Two years of current ambulance / medical billing experience, OR one year of current ambulance / medical billing experience and NAAC certified as an Ambulance Coder.
• Any equivalent combination of education and / or job-related experience that meets the minimum qualifications may be substituted.

Licensing, Certifications and Other Requirements :

Other pertinent licenses and / or certifications may be required of some positions depending on division / department / service assignment.
