We support employers in the heavy equipment and
construction sectors who need experienced mechanics to keep their
fleets operating safely and efficiently. This role focuses on
diagnostics, field service, and repair work on major heavy
equipment brands. It is ideal for a technician with strong
experience, solid troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work
independently on customer sites. This position involves more field
work than a typical shop mechanic role. Youll handle service truck
calls, perform on-site troubleshooting, and support the branch with
in-shop repairs when needed. This is not an entry-level role — the
employer is looking for a seasoned technician who can take the lead
on complex issues. What You'll Do Diagnose equipment malfunctions
using meters, diagnostic tools, and field-testing methods Perform
repairs on engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and machine
control systems Conduct scheduled maintenance and major service
intervals on heavy equipment Handle field service calls to return
equipment to operation or assist in transporting units back to the
shop Repair and maintain components such as enclosures, dashboards,
wiring, lighting systems, and control panels Prepare equipment for
rental readiness, ensuring machines meet safety and performance
standards Move equipment in and out of the yard / shop using
forklifts or operating the units directly Maintain accurate repair
records, work orders, and inspection documentation Keep tools,
service truck, and work areas clean, organized, and compliant with
safety procedures Communicate effectively with the branch team and
customers while on job sites What Were Looking For At least 6 years
of hands-on heavy equipment experience (rental industry experience
is a plus but not required) Strong knowledge of John Deere, Komatsu
Caterpillar , Bobcat, or similar construction equipment JLG /
Genie certification preferred but not required Ability to
troubleshoot diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and
basic electronics Comfortable working independently in the field
and interacting with customers professionally Strong mechanical
aptitude with the ability to learn increasingly complex systems
Able to follow all applicable safety rules, laws, and procedures
Accurate record keeping in both written work orders and digital
systems High school diploma or equivalent
