The shift will be from 7 PM to 7 AM. No on-call duty is required. Patients are typically assigned in a ratio of 1 : 2, and sometimes 1 : 1 based on census. The unit consists of 22 beds and is staffed with approximately 60 personnel. The day shift typically has 1 charge nurse, with RNs depending on census. The night shift mirrors this staffing structure. A variety of equipment is utilized, including IABP, Impella, ventilators, and arterial lines. Specific procedures performed within the unit may include rapid sequence intubation, CABG, valve replacements, and more. Ideal candidates are driven individuals who are willing to learn and adapt. They should be open to constructive criticism and capable of being a team player. Patient safety is a priority on this unit. Dress code requires navy scrubs. No permanent positions are available on the unit currently. Candidates with trauma credentials and post-operative cardiac surgery experience are preferred but not required.
