[job_card.job_description]5+ years of professional experience in a full-stack or front-end focused engineering role. Proficiency in React and front-end frameworks (Next.js, Vite, etc.) with a focus on clean, reusable components. Experience building highly interactive, data-driven user experiences. Strong command of JavaScript / TypeScript and modern front-end development practices (hooks, context, etc.). Experience writing and consuming RESTful APIs and backend services. Comfort working with relational databases, particularly Postgres. Strong Git workflow knowledge and experience with CI / CD pipelines (Github Actions). Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment. Experience with cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Vercel, Cloudflare). Comfortable with Kubernetes Experience using real user monitoring and analytics tools to make data-driven development decisions Expertise in Python and modern Python package management tools like Poetry and UV Familiarity with geospatial data and tools (Mapbox, Leaflet, Turf.js). Background in data visualization and performance profiling. Prior work in early-stage startups or fast-scaling environments. Experience writing tests with tools like Jest, React Testing Library, or Cypress. Familiarity with 3D visualization libraries (e.g., Deck.gl, Three.js). Cyvl is a Boston-based tech startup revolutionizing the way civil engineering firms and governments map and manage transportation infrastructure. Our enterprise-grade hardware and software solutions leverage 3D mapping sensors to capture LiDAR, imagery, and GPS data, retrofitted to our customers' vehicles. This data is processed through our AI-powered cloud pipelines to generate actionable condition and geospatial reports, saving our customers time, money, and resources. We are in a phase of rapid growth, disrupting a massive and outdated market with our innovative solutions.
About the Role
As a Senior Full-Stack Engineer at Cyvl, you will play a leading role in delivering intuitive, performant, and scalable applications for our customers. You’ll be responsible for designing and building new user-facing features with a strong emphasis on elegant, component-driven React development. While the role leans front-end, you\'ll be expected to contribute to and maintain APIs, and services across our backend, in both containerized and serverless environments, using both relational and noSQL databases. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with our engineering and product teams to shape the future of our platform as we grow rapidly and serve new customers.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of front-end features using React and modern full-stack frameworks.
- Collaborate with design and product teams to bring smooth, accessible, and responsive interfaces to life.
- Build, document, and maintain scalable APIs using Node.js, Python, and Postgres.
- Own full-stack features from conception to deployment—contributing across the stack as needed.
- Work with Postgres to design, query, and optimize data models and workflows.
- Contribute to architectural decisions and code reviews across the engineering organization.
- Mentor junior engineers and elevate the overall engineering bar.
- Partner with QA and DevOps to ensure robust, testable, and observable systems.
