Allied Anesthesia Technician

Job Summary :

The Anesthesia Technician assists in the care of patients undergoing anesthesia, ensures equipment is in good working order, and supports the anesthesia team. This role involves preparing equipment, assisting with procedures, troubleshooting equipment issues, and participating in training programs.

Responsibilities :

• Assist in the care of patients undergoing anesthesia, including equipment preparation and patient monitoring.
• Operate the cell-saver machine and manage lab reports during surgical cases.
• Ensure anesthesia equipment is in good working order and perform preventive maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and maintain specialized anesthesia equipment.
• Assist in the development and implementation of in-service training programs.
• Set up rooms between cases and ensure full service setup at the end of the day.
• Provide backup to the shift supervisor as needed.
• Perform anesthesia equipment setup and troubleshooting.
• Continuously communicate with anesthesiologists, residents, CRNAs and anesthesia technologists to ensure their needs are met throughout the day.
• Assist clinicians with difficult intubations and the placement of central line catheters.
• Work directly with service-specific faculty Division Chief of designated specialty.
• Provide on-call coverage.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
