Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with trauma experience and proficiency in multiple surgical specialties for a Level II Trauma Center.
Responsibilities
Work in the Operating Room of a short-term acute care hospitalLevel II Trauma Center with high acuity ortho, neuro, and general casesPatient care is 1 : 1 during surgical proceduresHandles 60-70 cases per day in a busy surgical environmentSurgical specialties include ortho (including total joints), neuro (including cranis), gen / trauma, vascular, endovascular / hybrid, GYN / Uro, ENT / plastics, eyes, and roboticsUses advanced equipment including DaVinci Xi robots, Doppler, ultrasound, Neptune, video systems, lasers, and specialized surgical tablesDay shift schedule : 4x10s (11 : 00-21 : 30)On-call required, up to four 8-hour shifts per 4-week cycleNo floating within scope requiredEpic charting system is used in the unitProvide perioperative patient care for a range of complex surgical proceduresParticipate in a bi-weekly Monday orientation before starting in the unitOR scrubs are providedFree parking is available on siteReturn-to-work policy requires at least one year of separation for former staffFirst-time travelers are not accepted for this assignmentRequest for time off is reviewed on a case-by-case basisSome holiday coverage may be required depending on unit needsRequirements
Active RN license or proof of application for state licenseMinimum 2 years of Level I or II trauma experience requiredAt least 2 years of experience in ortho (including total joints) and neuro (including cranis) requiredWell-rounded experience in multiple surgical specialties including roboticsCurrent BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS strongly preferredEpic EMR experience required within the past yearMust be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, booster not requiredNo more than one DUI accepted on backgroundCandidates must not have worked at the facility within the past yearLocals within a 60-mile radius are not acceptedBenefits
