Position Overview :
The Caswood Group is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurses to provide comprehensive care in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) in a military hospital in GUAM. This position is for a full year with the potential to extend. This role is critical in delivering life-saving, professional nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients with complex medical and surgical conditions. Key Responsibilities :
- Provide a full range of RN duties including patient assessment, monitoring, triage, and the execution of physician orders.
- Render professional intensive nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients, continually assessing for potential life-threatening crises.
- Recover stable and unstable pediatric patients from general / regional anesthesia and deep sedation.
- Administer a wide variety of rapid-acting medications, including direct IV administration, and monitor patient responses.
- Operate, troubleshoot, and interpret data from sophisticated equipment such as mechanical ventilators and hemodynamic monitoring systems.
- Formulate and implement goal-directed plans of care, involving the patient / family and ensuring an interdisciplinary approach.
- Provide emotional support, patient / family education, and discharge instructions.
- Participate in peer review, performance improvement, and staff development activities.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and concise documentation in both manual and electronic health records (MHS Genesis).
- Provide clinical oversight and guidance to LPNs / LVNs, nursing assistants, and ancillary personnel.
- Be available for on-call coverage on a rotating basis and may provide RN coverage for medical transports of critically ill children.
Schedule & Hours :
Schedule : 365 days / year, 24-hours / day.Shifts : Primarily 12-hour shifts (0645-1915 and 1845-0715).Hours : Up to 400 coverage hours per two-week period.On-Call : Required for one shift every 12 weeks on a rotating basis.Holidays : Required to work 1 major and 1 minor holiday shift per year.Required Qualifications :
Licensure : Current, active, full, and unrestricted RN license from any U.S. state or territory.Experience : Minimum of 18 months of full-time experience as an RN in a PICU within the last 24 months.Certifications :
Basic Life Support (BLS)Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)S.T.A.B.L.E. CertificationCitizenship : Must be a U.S. Citizen.Additional Requirements :
Health & Safety : Must meet all MTF health requirements, including immunizations (Varicella, MMR, TDAP, Influenza, Hepatitis B), annual TB screening, and N95 respirator fit-testing.Training : Must complete all MTF and DoD-required training (approx. 56 hours of orientation) within 60 days of start.Professionalism : Adhere to strict ethical conduct, Joint Commission standards, and all MTF policies and procedures.Dress Code : Professional scrubs.Contractual Details :
This is a Personal Services arrangement, meaning the RN will be under the direct supervision and schedule of the US Government.Contract personnel are designated as Emergency Essential and must report to work during government furloughs as directed.The position is for a base period of 12 months with four 12-month option periods.12-hour shifts (0645-1915 and 1845-0715)
