Job Description:
The Department of Civil, Environmental, and Construction Engineering (CECE) at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) seeks a highly qualified individual to join its growing environmental engineering program at the rank of tenured associate professor or higher (full Professor or the Regents' Distinguished Research Professor preferred). This position is created as part of a strategic initiative supported by the University of Texas System Regents' Research Excellence Program to advance research primarily related to water. The candidate must have earned a doctorate in Environmental or Civil Engineering or a related field with a minimum of six years of professional experience in higher education or comparable experience in a research-focused organization such as a national laboratory. The candidate should demonstrate a proven record of excellent leadership and communication skills and a vision for a long-term research program. The candidate should have established nationally recognized expertise in water research, as demonstrated by peer-reviewed articles, citations, H-index, patents, and leadership in professional organizations. The candidate must be able to sustain extramural research support from diverse sources and effective mentoring to undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral researchers. The candidate should also bring a valuable network of collaborators to UTEP.
