Description : Job Summary

The Driver prepares for daily deliveries by contacting customers, pulling materials, loading trucks and safely transporting merchandise from our distribution warehouse to various businesses and households.

Essential Job Duties

• Prepare truck for operation by inspecting general condition of truck ie; tires, fluids, etc.
• Maintain safe operation and clean appearance of vehicle by complying with organization’s operational policies, procedures, and standards, as well as state and local driving rules and regulations
• Cleaning truck exterior and interior.
• Load hardwood products on truck using a forklift
• Must be able to lift 50-75 pounds
• Check product for accuracy
• Secure load
• Safely follow routes and time schedules
• Contact customers on their route 1 day prior to delivery
• Serve customers by understanding and resolving or escalating complaints; adjusting orders
• Manually unload truck to deliver product to customers
• Maintain delivery records by obtaining receipt acknowledgments and completing driver log and truck performance forms
• Follow DOT regulations and safety standards
• Other duties as assigned

Reporting

The Driver reports to the Transportation Supervisor

Ability to operate forklifts and trucks in a variety of weather conditions

Maintain a clean driving record

Thorough product knowledge

Must be able to lift 50-75 pounds

Working knowledge of computer systems

Understanding of health and safety regulations

Organizational and time management skills

Must have strong attention to detail

Must work independently as well as be a team-player

Basic math skills

Professionally communicate with customers

Patience and the ability to stay calm in stressful situations

Problem solving skills

High school diploma or equivalent

Salary : $25.00 per hour
