Position Summary
The Associate Director of Corporate Relations (ADCR), as part of UA's Central Development Research Programs team, works to engage regional businesses and corporations with university fundraising priorities, research initiatives, and academic programming.
This position is dedicated to increasing corporate philanthropy and engagement across the university's academic, research, and community programming. The ADCR works collaboratively with UA colleagues and university faculty and staff to identify new corporate prospects aligned with key university priorities and strategically cultivate corporations for giving and other support opportunities. The ADCR will be responsible for meeting corporate revenue and engagement goals as they relate to the strategic needs of the university and assigned schools, units, institutes, and museums.
Reporting to the Director of Corporate Relations, this position will research, organize, and manage an active corporate portfolio of 25-30 small- to mid-size corporations, with a special focus on engaging companies in Oregon and the Pacific Northwest. The ADCR will focus on soliciting gifts and / or grants ranging from $10,000 - $99,999, including responding to Corporate Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and developing proposals, letters of interest, and other collateral for various university programs. Occasional work with corporations giving at higher levels is possible, depending upon corporate prospect interests, but is not a primary focus of this position.
Critical to the success of the ADCR will be the ability to effectively research corporate prospects and identify areas of alignment within university programming, collaborate with university faculty and staff on corporate cultivation and solicitation, and develop strong promotional materials and proposals with corporate interests in mind. This position will need to engage closely with university's research office, fine art and natural history museums, libraries, and various centers and institutes.
Travel between UO campuses in Portland and Eugene and to various corporate sites around the region will be a significant part of this position's work.
