Bookstore Specialist
The Bookstore Specialist shall be responsible for working in conjunction with the Bookstore Manager and Director of Instructional Technology and Book Services to plan and manage all day-to-day operations of the campus bookstore and its multi-campus locations. This is a full-time, 12-month FLSA non-exempt position covered by the Public Education Employee Retirement System of Missouri (PEERS). Qualifications
Associate's degree or equivalent experience preferred; valid driver's license required. This position requires excellent organizational, clerical, computer, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to learn new software programs easily. This well-organized individual must possess outstanding customer service skills and an ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibilities
Essential Duties:
- Order textbooks and prepare requisitions for all bookstore locations;
- Coordinate with Instructional Technology to gather textbook adoption information from faculty;
- Prepare semester book list for accuracy and posting on website;
- Keep detailed records of book inventory received and transferred to other bookstore sites;
- Correspond with vendors, book companies, and salespeople regarding textbook information;
- Work with other bookstore personnel to ensure consistent levels of service and inventory at all Greyhound Store locations;
- Return unsold textbooks and overstocks;
- Oversee Bookstore online ordering process for textbooks and book materials;
- Plan and manage the maintenance of bookstore records and processes, including cash handling and preparation of daily statements reflecting balanced receipts;
- Communicate with POS (MBS) system regarding yearly payments, upgrades, and changes to equipment and software;
- Maintain Bookstore webpage;
- Assist with scrub sales in conjunction with the Department of Health Sciences;
- Administer and deliver third-party fingerprinting services;
- Communicate with third-party fingerprinting services regarding updates, changes, closures, and technical difficulties;
- Organize and prepare book requests for the athletic department;
Peripheral Duties:
- Work with Instructional Technology, as needed, and collaborate on group projects;
- Coordinate departmental projects as assigned;
- Participate in college committees, professional workshops, and conferences;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
