DevOps / Site Reliability Platform Engineer

Be part of the transformation of Ford Motor Company's infrastructure solutions to meet challenges of the next generation applications supporting internal business, mobile applications, and autonomous vehicle application hosting requirements. This role will design and operate infrastructure such as RedHat OpenShift and RedHat OpenShift Virtualization supporting various application flavors alongside a geographically distributed team. Emphasis will be on both virtualization / container strategies and ecosystem (Kubernetes / Kubevirt) supporting Ford's rapidly increasing data and compute requirements. These environments will primarily be in our on-premises datacenters. This role will have opportunity to drive and shape new solutions and feature capability that improve our Kubevirt / Kubernetes platform's developer experience (reducing toil and complexity). We are seeking a motivated individual with a drive to be on the cutting edge while helping change the culture of IT towards a more nimble and iterative methodology.

Responsibilities include :

• Upgrade and maintain OpenShift Virtualization Specific Operators
• Manage OpenShift Virtualization Namespaces / Permissions
• Develop automation related to Provisioning, Day2, Decommissioning and Migration
• Collaborate with team members regarding code standards and assignments where needed
• Participate in code reviews and technical designs
