Physician Assistant

SpineSearch is working with a well-established hospital-based neurosurgery and orthospine service on Long Island is seeking an experienced Surgical Physician Assistant to join a collaborative PA-led model covering two affiliated hospitals. This program supports 10+ private neurosurgeons and offers strong autonomy, a sustainable patient mix, and long-tenured leadership. Role Highlights Inpatient neurosurgical coverage across two hospital campuses Mix of rounding, consults, ER coverage, and limited OR time (~15%) High level of PA autonomy, especially during weekends Patient population primarily spine, stenosis, and geriatric-focused Collaborative team with flexible scheduling whenever possible Schedule & Call Weekday schedule: 4×10s (transitioning toward 3×12s) Rotating call covering both facilities Weekend call with morning rounds Call compensated separately (home call + activation pay) Compensation Competitive hourly compensation Strong total compensation with additional call pay Qualifications Minimum 5 years of PA experience (neurosurgery, spine, trauma, or inpatient surgical background) Comfortable with inpatient consults, imaging review, and independent coverage NYS PA license and NCCPA certification Preference for candidates with ties to Long Island This role is well suited for PAs seeking a stable, autonomous neurosurgical position with a more sustainable pace than high-acuity trauma centers.
