Job Description

Job Title : Cath Lab RN

Profession : Registered Nurse

Shift : 10 Hour Days

Hours per Shift : Varied start times, call included, every other weekend

Experience : Minimum of 2 years

License : Required

Certifications : BLS, ACLS, PALS

Must-Have :

• Cath Lab experience
• Experience setting up medical equipment such as Balloon Pump, Impella, and Rotablade
• Willingness to learn EP, Neuro, trauma, and complex IR if not previously experienced

Description :

The primary responsibilities include circulating in the Cath Lab.

No scrubbing is required.

Moderate sedation is provided.

Patient teaching is part of the role.

Transferring patients to and from various departments is necessary.

All medication administration must be performed.

Equipment setup for Balloon Pump, Impella, and Rotablade is required.

Good communication and rapport with interventionalists and other relevant staff is essential.

Practicing hand-off and utilizing SBAR is important.

Experience in interventional and diagnostic procedures in the Cath Lab is expected.

Common procedures include L&R interventional and diagnostics, implants, pacers, STEMIs, Balloon Pump, Impella, ECMO, and shockwaves.

In EP, tasks include EP studies, diagnostics, ablations, Watchmans, and TAVR.

For trauma, the focus is on embolization and peripheral cases.

Complex IR cases include deeper interventions and embolizing bleeds.

Neuro-related tasks involve managing cerebral aneurysms, diagnostics, thrombectomies, and coils.

Flexibility is important, and candidates should be willing to stay past their scheduled shifts if required.

The position requires responding to calls, typically within 30 minutes.

Call requirements include weekday and weekend commitments every other weekend.

No floating to other departments is required.
