We are seeking an experienced General Surgery Physician Assistant for a 10-day locum tenens assignment in New York, starting Jan 2, 2026. This role requires flexibility for 12-hour shifts, covering both days and nights as scheduled to meet patient care needs in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Perform surgical first assist duties, including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernia repair, colectomy, and small bowel resection
  • Respond to changing shift assignments, transitioning between day and night shifts as needed
  • Collaborate closely with surgical teams to provide patient care in a dynamic hospital environment

    • Additional Information

  • New York state license required
  • Board certification in General Surgery required
  • Prior experience in emergency room settings required
  • Flexibility in scheduling is non-negotiable
